Week 3:
Well, the day I knew was coming has arrived. My Macbook Pro broke.
Now, instead of being able to easily take my computer into a certified repair shop (like I could with my old PC), I have to make an appointment, show up at that specific time, and be talked down to by some hoity-toity-specially trained technician. Even though I have an appointment, the Apple stores are always packed full of trendy iPhone buyers, causing my set time and date to be pushed back. And after all that, I’ll be paying at least half of what my computer cost just to fix the charging port.
I do love my Mac, but it is not very user friendly at all. With my old Toshiba, I could easily fix any software problems, or get cheap repairs from any certified tech wherever I want. But now, the times I can take in my Mac is limited, repairs are complicated, and prices are sky-high. I hardly see why I would prefer a Mac to a PC in this factor comparison.

Yeah I used to be a diehard PC fan but i recently got my first Mac. The interface is clean and very easy to use but i don’t like Apple’s “award winning” customer support very much. I’ve had my iPhone for about a year and I’ve found if you never use it, it can’t be broken. Simple Apple philosophy.

I feel your pain completely!! I have never actually had a Mac computer because my Dad works for Dell but I was first in line to get my Iphone when they came out. I have had so many problems with it and the Apple customer service. My phone was stolen last year and I had bought the tracker device that goes in the iphone and they claim that they can track your phone through that if someone tries to plug it into Itunes. However, after my phone was stolen I contacted apple and they said that this was not possible and they had no idea what I was talking about. I was very frustrated with them and to sum it up, Apple is cocky and their custumer siervice is not helpful!

When it comes to windows versus mac, I always go with windows. Mostly because of the all around combatability issues. But when it comes to small devices, such as iPhones versus smart phones, I’d definately go with the iPhone because it’s uses are limitless! It’s very user friendly too. As you mentioned though, repairing, or even having someone look at my iPhone is a pain, but in the end it’s worth it, in my opinion.
